A benefit for Deaf education programs in Delaware

Delaware Deaf Senior Citizens, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, invites you to apply as a vendor to promote your business, product, or organization at Delaware Deaf Fest ‘23.  This event will be held at Mariners Bethel United Methodist Church in Ocean View, DE, 81 Central Avenue, Ocean View, DE  19970.  The venue is The Hope Center next to the main Church, a 13,050 square-foot indoor space.  There is plenty of outdoor space including a picnic pavilion.  The church is a few miles west of Bethany Beach, Delaware.

Delaware Deaf Fest will have food trucks, activities for families and children, Deaf Culture videos and performances, ASL lessons, raffle baskets, bake sales, and presentations. It will be a day to raise awareness about the Deaf community and interact with Deaf people and Deaf businesses and organizations. The day coincides with the International Week of Deaf People Worldwide.

NEW DATE: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2023

Delaware Deaf Fest ’23 has been rescheduled to Saturday, November 11, 2023. This free event will be held at The Hope Center at Mariner’s Bethel Church, 81 Central Avenue, Ocean View from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The event is hosted by the non-profit Delaware Deaf Senior Citizens (DDSC).

DDSC membership reflects the growing number of Deaf senior citizens in the area. DDSC was established in 2015 to enhance the well-being of Deaf and hard-of-hearing senior citizens, improve communication access, and increase awareness about the Deaf community and American Sign Language.

Delaware Deaf Fest ‘23 will celebrate Deaf culture and American Sign Language (ASL). Proceeds from the event will support Deaf and hard-of-hearing students in Delaware schools. There will be food vendors, Deaf-themed craft activities for children, a Deaf mime performer, American Sign Language mini classes, a silent auction with items donated by area businesses, a bake sale, and presentations and videos on Deaf culture. Vendor tables will include community resources and Deaf artists and businesses.
